Digital Image Processing

Here details of processing of a 2D image by a digital computer are included. Actually what happens here is digital processing of some particular two-dimensional data. An array of real and complex numbers represented by a set of bits is what is called a digital image. Computer hard disk memory stores image as a matrix of binary digits. Processing/displaying of these images possible by special means and can be viewed on a high resolution monitor. The image is stored in a rapid access buffer memory. This memory design is such that it refreshes the monitor at least at 30 frames to produce continues vision. This method finds its applications in geophysics, geopositioning, remote sensing, space research, medicine and in defense.
