Software is termed as
quality software if it is facilitating efficient, effective and comfortable use
by a given set of users for a set of purposes under specified conditions. A few
terms which are important and significant in software quality assurance and
concepts are functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability,
portability and dependability. Suitability, security, accuracy,
interoperability and compliance of software are covered in functionality.
Reliability comprises of maturity, fault tolerance and recoverability
compliance. Usability covers learnability, operatability, understandability,
attractiveness and compliance. In efficiency, resource utilization, time
behavior and compliance are monitored. Maintainability covers analyzability,
stability, testability, changeability and compliance. Portability includes
adaptability, installability, co-existence, replaceability and compliance.
Dependability covers availability, maintainability, reliability, trustability
and maintenance support.
